Can Sanjaya Malakar be American Idol..??

Sanjaya Malakar has made the top ten of American Idol, but we all know that there is no way that he can win the competition. Eventually, there will come a point in time when the votes of those who vote for the best singer will no longer be split between various finalists, and their votes will out number the votes of those who vote for the worst singer. Right?

Maybe not. Sanjaya fever is sweeping across America, and it just might be enough to help him win the show. From Saturday Night Live to Howard Stern to Vote for the Worst to MySpace hunger strikers, everyone is talking about Sanjaya Malakar. While some want to see Sanjaya voted off as soon as possible, others are just as determined to keep him on the show.

Even though those that are voting for Sanjaya in order to mess with the American Idol results get the most press, there are also a lot of legitimate Sanjaya fans out there. American Idol audience member Ashley Ferl who bawled while Sanjaya sang is just one example of the many fans who actually like Sanjaya.

While Sanjaya has received a lot of negative feedback from the judges, he has also had a couple stand-out performances. During his initial audition, Sanjaya wowed the judges with a performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” Sanjaya also showed remarkable improvement in his most recent performance of “You Really Got Me.”

Whether people are voting for Sanjaya because they are his legitimate fans, because they are Howard Stern listeners, because they are Vote for the Worst devotees, or just because they enjoy seeing his hot sister in the audience, it all adds up to a lot of votes for Sanjaya Malakar.

so what do you think — Can Sanjaya Malakar has a legitimate shot at winning American Idol ??

Compassion (Un)Defined…

A story, I read somewhere sometime ago..:

a blind beggar on the road… no one is paying any attention to him…he is so poor that he cant even afford tears…he has not cried for years.
a writer who is broke in his life.
its spring…
the writer leaves his home to wander with out a penny in his pocket.
he notices the beggar and his miserable state. there is a slate and a chalk kept beside the beggar…
the writer approaches the beggar and says’ dear friend, i am a writer who doesnt have a penny but i have an art…i have power of words…i can give you that…please allow me to write on the slate which you have…’
Beggar’ sir…hardly any one speaks to me…i am a poor blind beggar…you are free to do what ever you want to do with the slate’
the writer writes something on the slate and walks away.
as writer leaves, the beggar could feel that every person passing by him is stopping and throwing coins at him…
after few minutes there is a heap of coins in front of him..
he becomes uneasy…the heap keeps raising second by second. he becomes so restless that the next man who throws a coin in front of him, the beggar grabs his hand and says ‘sir, sorry for misbehaving…but i am a poor blind man…please do me a favor and read out to me what has been written on the slate?’
the man takes up the slate and reads out
‘ ITS SPRING AND I CANT SEE! ‘
tears roll down the old blind beggar’s cheeks…

This is COMPASSION

who understands life better?
the writer who wrote it? or
people who read it and offered coins? or
the beggar who cried after so many years?

Marrige..(un)Defined…

Recently, landed on Shashi Krishna’s blog about Happy? Marriage? or both??

I know my parents will soon start asking me questions about my plans of ‘settling down’ in life. They will want me to be part of the crowd they were by going in for arranged marriage which does not scare me as much. But what scares me is the notion of being married to someone without love. What scares me is the concept of ‘making love grow’ after tying the knot. What scares me is the scheduled timing that takes place with such arrangements. One cannot blame me for seeing it this way. Born and bred in a pretty liberal society back in India I have been completely exposed to a whole new set of ideologies in the western world for the past decade. This exposure has in effect changed the way I visualize wedlock. I am sure I am not the only one in this weird dilemma as to which way to go when it boils down to ‘spending the rest of my life with someone’.

I totally hear him and feel the same.

sometime back.. i did some reading and post blog about arrange marriage then i wasn’t even close to thinking about marriage.. so i could post a very objective blog.

What is the perfect marriage? …
Forgiveness and love for each.
Given from the loving one-
-from way up above.

Now, when if i think for answers.. although, from friends experience and my reading (resulted as post) is still logical, real, mindful,.. but i dont know, somehow something might be missing… anyways truth is — fear is always a lot bigger in your head than it is in reality.. so I takes things as its comes.

Marriage
many have tasted the bitter side of it
many that found themselves inside
wished they were not married
many that are outside
look with great admiration
towards exploiting it benefit and profit

Marriage
an idea divine, designed, imported,
profit and benefit intended
affection, procreation, benediction expected
platform to extend and expand,
goodness, kindness
and the righteousness
of GOD who designed
and also assigned
wisdom to enjoy the same:
to all the creation

Marriage
what is the problem?
many got the product, but neglected the manual
problem reminded many that they are not
fully prepared, Yet it is too late
to enjoy the profit and benefit intended
for marriage

Marriage’s missions: mentoring, maturing, multiplying,
Mission met marriage mended
Mission missed marriage messed

Perfection and Reality are Oxymorons

Women (Un)Defined…

Women, a friend, a mother,..
A metamorphosis, one after another
and now i wonder
are you but a mere gender?

women,
filled with pleasure
you are the greatest treasure
you are the reason battles were fought
O! thy beauty many have sought

women,
with modest, selfless and kind,
gentle in ego to see
much divine and gorgeous a person you are.
When I tell you… you disagree.

woman you can see in the mirror,
how you lights a path for those who aspire
to be more than just daily circumstance,
woman,.. do I respect and admire.

oh! women
I sit here waiting all day
that someday you may,
come and make me yours
and to you always open are my doors…..
